Today, I have some sad news.

By the time you read this, many of you already know that uSirius StarPlayr for the iPhone project has been retired.

Well it's been quite a while since the last uSirius update. The last few months have been extremely busy catching up on side work and starting a new job. The past two weeks I have been slowly getting back into uSirius and uXM for the iPhone!

If you are beta testing the 2.x version, you know when audio is playing the iPhone becomes extremely sluggish. Simply adjusting the volume or unlocking the phone causes skipping audio and choppy screen refreshes.

uSirius 1.0 Release Candidate 8 and uXM 1.0 Release Candidate 4 have been released!

Updates:

-- Fixed channel lineup issues (uXM)
-- Updated for TVersity 1.0RC3 (uSirius/uXM)
-- Removed User-Agent restrictions (uSirius/uXM)

uSirius and uXM will no longer work with older versions of TVersity (< 1.0RC3).

I've received several emails asking if uSirius and uXM would be released for iPhone 2.0. The answer is most definitely YES!

I don't want to give any specific time frame, but I am hoping soon. (Missing Octane at work!)

Just to give a quick update, I recently purchased a Mac Mini and the iPhone developers license. The open source libraries uSirius and uXM use (ffmpeg, tidylib, libxml, and libcurl) have all been compiled successfully using the SDK.
